Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Night at Fenway
John Heald, pancreatic cancer survivor and member of our Board of Advisors, represented DetecTogether at Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Night at Fenway Park. John, now an early detection advocate, was joined by family, DetecTogether team members and fellow survivors. Thanks to our friends at Immunovia for the invitation to this very special event.
Firefighter Cancer Awareness at Polar Park
Thanks to UniBank, we threw out the first pitch at the Worcester Red Sox game on August 20. We were so happy to have PJ Roy, Fitchburg Fire Department Captain and DetecTogether trainer, represent us. PJ has done an incredible job teaching firefighters how to detect cancer early, and it was awesome to share this special night with him.
DetecTogether President & Executive Director, Tricia Laursen, also got some time in the radio booth to talk about early cancer detection and free skin cancer screening for firefighters at Polar Park.
DetecTogether Night at the Worcester Bravehearts
On July 24, we were thrilled to partner with Rich Carr and Carr Financial Group for DetecTogether Night at the Worcester Bravehearts. The team wore special firefighter jerseys that were auctioned off during the game for DetecTogether. We were also joined by cancer survivors and DetecTogether ambassadors, Asa Floyd and Evan Moore. The entire Bravehearts team learned 3 Steps Detect and now know the life-saving power of early cancer detection.
